Las Vegas

Las Vegas

Las Vegas is internationally known as The Entertainment Capital of the World. Famous for all the mega casino's, hotels and entertainment and is amongst the top 3 leading destinations in the United States and one of the top destinations in the world. Las Vegas is a year-round destination, and though it might sound obvious, the best time to visit can depend on the sort of things you would like to see and do. If you like play some golf or you would like to spend time walking uthe famous Las Vegas Strip, then travelling between September and May will be perfect for you, with the warm daytime temperatures and clear blue sky. Winters can be cooler, especially at night,  so dont forget to pack lots of layers. If you decide to visit in the summer, then  be prepared for extremely hot days with temperatures often pushing 100 degrees. This will not affect those planning to spend time in casinos or visiting other attractions, which are all well air-conditioned. And even outside by the poolside, hotels do an excellent job of keeping everybody cool, with shady cabanas, cold vapour misters and plenty of iced-drinks on tap.

Must See and Do

Where do we start. Las Vegas is famed for its Casino's, but there is so much more to do besides. The wonderful array of hotels are a must see in themselves. Featuring various shows, and one of a kind experiences from Mandalay Bay's Shark Reef Aquarium to the popular CSI:The Experience at the MGM Grand. If your trying your hand in the Casino's, but your card skills are not quite up to scratch, then book yourself a free gaming lesson at the Circus Circus. During your stay, Just 300 miles from Las Vegas is the Grand Canyon, with plenty of tours to choose from whether it be by bus or a scenic helicopter tour. A lot closer but just as amazing, is the Hoover Dam, again with multiple tours to choose from. For those with a sweet tooth, try a visit to the Ethel M  Chocolate Factory, this FREE self guided tour finishes with plenty of FREE candy.

Dining

Whether you are looking for fast food, casual bistros, all you can eat buffets or some of the most respected fine dining restaurants in the world, you can find them all in Las Vegas. The city has firmly asserted itself as one of America’s best dining destinations over the past two decades, so your only problem will be deciding where to go. For a more upscale flair, try Sage at Aria for New American cuisine and a speakeasy style cocktail bar. Mizumi at the Wynn, offers modern Japanese dishes which overlooks koi ponds and gardens, or try Fleur by Hubert Keller at Mandalay Bay for global small-plates tapas. For a more casual fare, try the half Chinese noodles/half-Mexican tacos menu of China Poblano at the Cosmopolitan in the new gastropub Public House at the Venetian (which boasts the only beer sommelier in Nevada). If steaks are your preferrence, then a visit to N9NE Steakhouse is a must, try the 16oz filet mignon, or the tender Ribeye and then finish off with a specialised cocktail or something off the dessert menu.
